Building Faculty Engagement Workshop

August is a busy time for the School Growth team, especially as more and more schools discover the advantages and benefits of Building Faculty Engagement  training. This month we're teaching sessions across the country, both on-campus and online. We've also helped some schools use Title I & II funds to provide this vital PD for their teachers and staff. Give us a call (855) 444-7698 or send an email to find out about the options available. We'll help you find a way forward!

Is Your Communication Plan Ready for 2017-18?

We received a call this week from an administrator who was overwhelmed by the response from the faculty when he applied a few of the habits from our workshop on the fundamentals of communication to build trust and relationships. They clapped enthusiastically after realizing how much effort the administration had obviously made to be prepared with information and was intentionally sharing details with them first. Great communicators have a HUGE advantage. To learn more, check out our Special Offers.

New School in Tampa is Making Progress

You may recall that last year we launched the design of a new school north of Tampa. Using our School Design Framework, we started with the Context to establish clarity regarding the mission, vision, target market, goals, value proposition, core values, and relationships. Now we're moving forward with the plans for governance, operations, administration, and learning. This fall we'll be conducting a few learning journeys to U.S. schools that we've identified as remarkable models that we'd like to incorporate into this new campus. Send us an email if you would like to join one of these visits.

Marketing Planning has Few Shortcuts

This summer we re-evaluated every aspect of the marketing and branding for School Growth, partnering with a team of experts who understand schools and have deep experience with contemporary marketing tools and strategies. Lots of activities can be automated, but marketing planning has few shortcuts. It takes hard work, time to reflect, humbly facing the brutal facts, carefully listening to the voice of each person and the team, and creating a disciplined commitment to testing growth hypotheses and then making adjustments.
Let us know if you would like to know more about what we learned about marketing planning and how we can help you.

The Best Team Wins

My Friend, I recently had the privilege of interviewing Adam Robinson, CEO of Hireology and author of the book, The Best Team WinsBest Team Wins Cover.jpg

One research data point he shared has really stuck with me:

"50% of the factors predicting a person’s success or failure in a new role
has absolutely nothing to do with their experience."

That's BIG! Understanding that the quality of talent, energy, and engagement of our faculty directly determines the future trajectory of our students and community, are we using an deficient process for selecting and retaining the best people? Most of us use resumes as the primary evaluation tool for recruiting, but much better methods are available.

Adam went on to share four elements that are actually more important than experience:

Attitude, Sense of Accountability, Prior Related Job Success & Culture Fit

Our monthly leadership mentoring for school administrators has prioritized talent strategy and more effective communication because of the impact on children and on the careers of our clients. The best teams (teachers and staff) really do win.

Thank you for your commitment and courage as a school leader!
