What is the purpose of your financial aid strategy?

  • Is it a way to fill empty seats and/or increase enrollment?
  • Does it help you achieve a more diverse student body?
  • Are you using aid as a response to parents' concerns about affordability?

In this workshop we'll guide you through a deeper understanding of how your tuition assistance program impacts your sustainability, reputation, culture, and goals. This is a critical component of the overall strategy for any independent school. In this training you will explore:

Structure: Purposeful financial aid policies and processes that enable pursuit of the mission

Communications: Build confidence and trust with families, donors, investors, and faculty

Outcomes: Wise financial stewardship, Enrollment growth, Diversity, etc.

Who Should Attend:

Administrators of the school, including the chief administrator, board members, CFO/business manager, Principals, Admission Director, Development Director, and any supervising leader. 

Learning Objectives:

- Assess current financial aid policies and processes
- Establish guiding principles and expectations
- Understand best practices for financial aid
- Produce a Financial Aid Strategy 
- Determine points of accountability and communication

Format

The Optimize Financial Aid workshop requires half to a full day of instruction and planning. We generally run 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with a working lunch.
