In this workshop I seek to define the words leader and leadership. This is crucial because if our presuppositions are flawed our understanding of leadership will be flawed. This leads to frustration and too often failure. Leadership is not just management writ large. Rather leaders have a specific role to play in every organization without which the organization will never achieve its greatest potential.

Scott Barron Founder & Chief Reinvention Officer, School Growth LLC

Scott is an educator, entrepreneur, and author who is recognized as a leading voice advocating for and encouraging educators in their calling and in their faith. He serves as the Chief Reinvention Officer of School Growth LLC (schoolgrowth.com) and the Executive Director of Educators Fellowship (edfellowship.org). Scott earned his M.Ed from Johns Hopkins University, along with a B.A. in Religion and a B.S. in Computer Science from Mars Hill University. He serves on the National Advisory Council for the Johns Hopkins University School of Education, and recently published the acclaimed book, Love’em and Lead’em: Encouragement and Inspiration for Educators. Scott's combination of experience as a school head, business leader, EdTech advisor, college instructor, author, and executive coach gives him a unique perspective and valuable wisdom that is utilized by organizations around the world.

 

 

Alan Pue

Alan Pue, Senior Consultant, School Growth LLC

Alan has spent a lifetime in Christian schooling as a student, teacher, coach, head of school, pastor, and for five years as Provost of The Master’s College (now University) in California. As President of The Barnabas Group, Inc., Alan provided strategic/scenario planning, leadership development, and governance training assistance to faith-based organizations.
Working with School Growth, Alan brings his experience and passion for education to our network of Christian schools. Alan is also the author of Rethinking Sustainability and Rethinking Strategic Planning.
